Also, you'll get weird bumps at the edges due to the porosity of the grain. Close-grained woods (like maple, holly, cherry, etc.) work well for inlay because of how tight their grain is. WebApply white or yellow glue into the recess, not the inlay itself. If you apply glue to the inlay, it may swell and not fit into the recess. Make sure to mount the inlay paper side up. After the glue has dried moisten the paper with a lightly dampened sponge and remove it by scraping.
