Parallel computing simulation

WebOct 1, 1990 · Parallel discrete event simulation (PDES), sometimes called distributed simulation, refers to the execution of a single discrete event simulation program on a parallel computer. PDES has attracted a considerable amount of interest in recent years. Traditionally, computer software has been written for serial computation. To solve a problem, an algorithm is constructed and implemented as a serial stream of instructions. These instructions are executed on a central processing unit on one computer. Only one instruction may execute at a time—after that instruction is finished, the next one is executed.

There is the answer which is more appropriate here. Basically, parallel refers to memory-shared multiprocessor whereas distributed refers to its private-memory multicomputers. That is, the first one is a single multicore or superscalar machine whereas another is a geographically distributed network of computers. WebThis paper presents an adaptive parallel computing model of low-pressure plasma processing system. It demonstrates the importance in considering the temporal behavior of a parallel computing application. In this case, the parallel simulation model belongs to the loosely synchronous category and reveals a time-increasing workload. doesn\\u0027t zj
